Basics of MRI and MRS

This is a two-day MRI and MRS hands-on workshop specifically designed to benefit Radiographers working on, or interested in MRI and MRS, both in a clinical and research environment.

The course will consist of a series of lectures, followed by practical sessions based on the theory. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with MRI parameters on the various MRI pulse sequences, which will give them a better understanding of the latter. Participants will also be introduced to MRS theory and practical.

A Certificate of Attendance and CPD points will be issued to eligible participants of the course.

The course is held at Groote Schuur Hospital and the Cape Universities Body Imaging Centre (CUBIC) which hosts Africa’s first 3T Magnetom Skyra, whole body research scanner. CUBIC is situated at J10, Groote Schuur Hospital, Anzio Road, Observatory.
