This is a three-day hands-on Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance workshop specifically designed to benefit Radiographers, Radiologists and Cardiologists working on, or interested in MRI, both in a clinical and research environment.
The course will consist of a series of lectures, followed by practical sessions based on the theory. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with MRI where they can gain a deeper understanding on how to plan, execute and analyse Cardiac MRI scans.

flow in adult congenital heart disease
CMR LGE and viability assessment
CMR velocity encoded imaging
infiltrative heart disease
ischemic heart disease
systemic rheumatic disease
HIV-associated cardiovascular disease
CMR safety in permanent pacemakers and implantable- cardioverter defibrillators
A Certificate of Attendance and CPD points will be issued to participants of the course.
The course is held at Groote Schuur Hospital and the Cape Universities Body Imaging Centre (CUBIC) which hosts Africa’s first 3T Magnetom Skyra, whole body research scanner. CUBIC is situated at J10, Groote Schuur Hospital, Anzio Road, Observatory.
