The University of Cape Town Palliative Care Division will host a first ever Palliative Care Workshop on 11 June 2019 with a focus on renal patients featuring International renowned physician, Dr Frank Brennan from Australia.
The workshop, Renal Supportive Care, a first of its kind for South African Doctors, is aimed at addressing the challenges doctors face daily with regards to palliative care for renal patients.
Esteemed guest speaker and renowned Palliative Care Physician, Dr Frank Brennan will be presenting the workshop which will take place at Groote Schuur Hospital in Observatory, Cape Town.
Who should attend?
Nephrologists and Physicians across South Africa are invited to attend, with a special focus on local metropole service providers, family medicine, renal society and palliative care society.
The aim of the workshop is to develop a guideline for all health professionals in support of patients in end stage renal failure in the South African context. This is a collaborative action workshop between Nephrology, Family Medicine and Palliative Care. The final output will be a guideline for distribution and use nationally.
